Zusammenfassung

VisionWorks in New York is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience. You will assist with onsite and remote eye examinations, perform pre-testing, document results in EMR, and coordinate care with optometrists and retail staff.

You will also preauthorize insurance, schedule appointments, answer patient questions, and help with contact lens orders. Some travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifikationen

• One (1) year of related experience is required.
• Optical or healthcare background is preferred.
• Medical office professionalism is required.

Aufgaben

• Complete patient registration and submit information into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Guide remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing and document results.
• Transition patients to a retail associate with treatment recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOP and manage appointments and no-shows.
• Answer clinical questions and triage ocular emergencies; schedule annual exams.
• Maintain patient records and manage contact lens orders and stock.
• Travel to other locations as needed.

Ausbildung

HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Optical or Healthcare background preferred

Medical office/business professionalism required

One (1) year of related experience
