Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in Medfield, MA. You will prepare patients for onsite or remote exams, perform pre-exam tests, and explain each step of the process while liaising between patients and Optometrists to facilitate the patient journey.

Responsibilities include assisting onsite and remote examinations, documenting results in EMR, preauthorizing insurance, and coordinating with retail staff to schedule and complete patient care.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for onsite or remote examinations and assist clinicians.
• Explain preliminary testing steps to patients and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote eye exams, coordinate remote diagnostics and testing.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books per Company guidelines.
• Maintain patient records and educate patients on contact lens care and options.
• Support infection control and equipment maintenance.
