Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a smooth patient journey—from pre-exam testing to post-exam handoff to a retail associate. You will assist with both in-clinic and remote eye exams, document findings in the EMR, and explain each step of the process to patients.

Ideal candidates have a year of related optical/healthcare experience, education at HS diploma or GED level, and superb customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related experience in optical/healthcare settings.
• Proficient in maintaining patient records per standards.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and explain steps of the process.
• Assist onsite and remote eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Explain insurance and plan benefits to patients.
• Instruct patients on contact lens use and care.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and equipment.
