Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Morgantown, WV seeks a Clinical Optimization Specialist to strengthen documentation accuracy, enhance coding alignment, and improve revenue cycle performance in the Heart & Vascular Institute. This role partners with Revenue Cycle, IT, and clinical leaders to optimize Epic templates and workflows.

The position is Monday–Friday, 8 hours daily, with potential occasional direct patient care up to two days per month and per diem options as approved.

Qualifications

• Master's-prepared NP or PA with clinical background in Heart & Vascular.
• Minimum 5 years APP experience in relevant field.
• Experience with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and coding review desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify documentation gaps affecting acuity, reimbursement, and revenue.
• Review coding requirements and keep providers informed.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on documentation standards and templates.
• Participate in chart audits and feedback loops.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, IT, and leadership to standardize workflows.
• Provide occasional direct patient care up to two days per month.
• Act as liaison between providers and Revenue Cycle teams.
