Job summary

UHA University Health Associates seeks a Clinical Optimization Specialist- Advanced Practice Provider to enhance documentation accuracy and support revenue cycle performance. The role partners with Revenue Cycle, IT, and clinical leadership to optimize Epic templates and ensure documentation reflects acuity.

The APP will balance clinical duties up to two days per month, while driving documentation improvements across Heart & Vascular services and related specialties.

Qualifications

• Master’s prepared NP or PA.
• Five (5) years of relevant clinical experience as an APP in Heart & Vascular aligned disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Identify documentation gaps affecting acuity, reimbursement, and revenue performance.
• Review coding requirements and proactively inform providers of necessary documentation elements.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on documentation standards, coding questions, templates, and best practices.
• Participate in chart audits and provide feedback to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership to support enterprise coding initiatives and standardization.
• Work with physicians and APP leaders to align documentation goals with service lines.
• Partner with IT to optimize Epic templates and workflows to capture required documentation points.
• Provide training on documentation updates, coding changes, and compliance.
