Job summary

East Tennessee Children's Hospital seeks a Food Service/Nutrition Aide to support patient meals under supervision of the Clinical Dietitian. You will assist with infant formula prep, tray line, diet office tasks, and clerical duties, ensuring safe handling per HACCP guidelines and communicating with care teams.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in food service or nutrition, with knowledge of MS Office and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Dietetic Technician degree or Registered Dietitian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Food Service Supervisor in patient trayline, snacks, and parent meals, and with modified diets.
• Prepares infant formulas; delivers to patient unit refrigerators; returns unused formulas.
• Sterilizes formulas as requested.
• Completes lab requisitions and takes samples to the lab.
• Plans menus and snacks with patients' families per restrictions and allergies.
• Communicates with health care team to adjust dietary plans as needed.
• Maintains inventory and uses hospital resources efficiently.
• Documents nutrition education and diet instructions in the medical record under RD supervision.
