Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Nutrition Technician to prepare and deliver infant formula and special diets, translating dietary orders and maintaining patient nutrition records using CNMC information systems.

You will ensure kardex accuracy, review patient menus, inventory special items, and support department staff while upholding HACCP safety standards and professional service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of related healthcare/foodservice experience required.
• Basic calculations and ability to translate orders into diet products.
• Ability to measure micro and macro levels using scales and tools.
• Ability to perform IT data entry and print functions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and maintain accurate orders for patient meals and formulas in CNMC systems.
• Prepare, review, and correct patient menus and adhere to special diets.
• Prepare and deliver infant formula and supplements per approved formulas.
• Maintain patient information in kardex/logs and ensure order clarity.
• Inventory special food items and communicate needs to supervisor.
• Enter floor stock data and generate daily/weekly reports per guidelines.
• Ensure safety and sanitation per HACCP and department standards.
• Answer department phone and log requests per guidelines.
