Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Nutrition Technician to ensure accurate preparation, translation and delivery of special formulas and meals for patients, following department policies and CNMC information systems.

You will maintain patient diet records, answer nutrition service requests by phone, and support order accuracy, inventory and kardex logging, with emphasis on safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• 3 years related healthcare, foodservice experience (Required)
• Translate written instructions and numeric formulas into diet products and infant formulas.
• Ability to accurately measure micro and macro levels of special products, using scales and tools.
• Perform basic information technology data entry and print functions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and maintain accurate and current orders for patient meal service or formulas using CNMC information systems.
• Prepare, review and correct patient menus and adhere to the principles of special diets.
• Prepare and deliver infant formula and supplements per RD approved formulas and department standards.
• Maintain patient information in kardex, logbook and IT systems; seek clarification when needed.
