Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Nutrition Technician to accurately prepare, translate and deliver special formulas and patient meals. You will maintain diet orders, kardex, and IT logs, and respond to patient foodservice requests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of related healthcare/foodservice experience. Responsibilities include preparing infant formulas, adhering to RD-approved standards, and maintaining accurate patient menus and records while ensuring

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A.A. degree preferred.
• 3 years related healthcare/foodservice experience required.
• Basic calculations and measurement skills required.
• Ability to translate written instructions and numeric formulas.

Responsibilities

• Receive and maintain accurate orders for patient meals.
• Prepare, review and correct patient menus and adhere to special diets.
• Prepare infant formula and supplements per RD-approved standards.
• Maintain patient information in kardex/logs/IT systems and clarify orders.
• Enter data on floor stock and nourishment usage; print reports per guidelines.
• Support safety and sanitation standards in the department.
