Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Nutrition Technician to support safe infant feeding in an inpatient setting. You will prepare specialized formulas, verify orders with the care team, and maintain stringent sanitation and inventory controls.

You will document findings in the EHR, assist with nutrition screening and education, and contribute to high-quality care for vulnerable patients under the supervision of a registered dietitian.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related health field (required).
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Illinois Food Handler Certification may be obtained after hire.
  • NDTR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare specialized infant formulas and human milk fortifications per orders.
  • Maintain sanitation and aseptic technique; follow HACCP standards.
  • Prepare feedings using standard recipes and ENFit equipment; wear PPE.
  • Calculate volumes, yields, and additives using calculators and Excel tools.
  • Verify orders with RD/nurses/physicians; document in EHR.
  • Print feeding labels with patient IDs and expiration details.
  • Deliver feedings to nursing units promptly; manage inventory and renewal.
  • Generate EHR reports and enter charges in Epic; train staff as needed.
