Job Description

Provide clinical instruction to freshman and sophomore level students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The Day option runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the Evening/Weekend option runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Instructional areas include fundamentals (subacute), pediatrics, maternity, medical‑surgical nursing, community, and psych.

General Statement of Responsibilities

Provide clinical instruction, guidance, support, and evaluation during clinical rotations, ensuring that students develop the necessary skills and competencies for nursing practice.

Examples of Duties

1. Clinical teaching in specific assigned clinical site/agency.
2. Facilitate hands‑on learning experiences that prepare students to apply skills in various healthcare settings.
3. Teach and demonstrate nursing skills and procedures to students.
4. Supervise and evaluate students' performance in clinical environments.
5. Mentor and guide students in their clinical practice.
6. Provide constructive feedback and assess students' competencies.
7. Foster a supportive and positive learning environment.
8. Assessment of student learning.
9. Attend faculty team meetings.
10. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students to enhance the educational experience.
11. Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

1. Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
2. Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
3. Must possess one of the following:
   1. Master's degree in nursing, or
   2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a letter of intent to complete one of the following within the specified time frames:
      • Certification in Nursing Education/Clinical (CNE/C) within 3 years of hire, or
      • Master's degree within 5 years of hire.
4. Expertise and clinical experience in fundamentals (subacute), pediatrics, maternity, community, psych, and medical‑surgical nursing.
5. Ability to create an environment conducive to learning.
6. Ability to assess and evaluate student performance effectively.
7. Proficient in using educational technology and teaching tools.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred.

Compensation

$65.17 per hour, up to 18 hours per week. Part‑time, non‑benefited MCCC Unit position.
