Job summary

The University of Central Florida invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer position in the Department of Nursing Practice on the Daytona campus. The role focuses on teaching clinical and didactic courses across the lifespan, with opportunities for lab/simulation, curriculum planning, and student mentorship.

Rank will be determined by credentials and experience, with active involvement in professional organizations and faculty governance encouraged.

Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution at time of application.
Unencumbered RN license; Florida licensure expected by date of hire; multi-state endorsement by hire date.
At least 2 years of inpatient clinical experience in pediatric, adult/geriatric, critical care, or families/women’s health/psychiatric areas.
Teaching experience (online, hybrid, or classroom) in relevant nursing areas within the past 3 years.
Active CPR/BLS certification by date of hire.

Responsibilities

Teach direct clinical portions of courses in inpatient units across lifespan.
Teach on-campus labs and simulation activities with mentorship.
Teach didactic courses in pediatric, adult/geriatric, families, or psychiatric areas as qualified.
Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to promote student success.
Collaborate with chairs, faculty, and peers on curriculum development.
Advise, mentor, and model professionalism for students and junior faculty.
