Clinical Nurse II - Duke Children's Creekstone

Job Location: Duke Children's Creekstone - 4709 Page Rd, Durham, NC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II at our Duke Children's at Creekstone Clinic in Durham, NC to be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer immunotherapy injections and perform related tasks.
• Conduct patient intake, including obtaining vital signs (manual blood pressures), administering surveys, conducting educational assessments with patients/guardians, medication reviews, and assisting with questions for providers, ambulation, and toileting.
• Perform procedural tasks such as allergy skin tests, interpreting results, oral immunotherapy, medications, and food challenges per protocols and provider orders. Monitor for reactions, provide education, bill procedures, and administer specialty medications.
• Document in electronic health records and NCIR.
• Engage in professional development by maintaining competencies and seeking educational opportunities.
• Identify and participate in clinical or operational performance improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited BSN, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within seven years of employment.
• Minimum of twelve months of clinical experience.
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS certification required.

Job Schedule:

Day shifts, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm.
