Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking experienced ER nurses for its Region Float Pool ER. The role involves float shifts across a region including Bartow, South Florida Baptist, and Winter Haven hospitals, with 645 PM to 7:15 AM shifts and weekend rotation.

In-person assignment and non-exempt status apply. Responsibilities include independent ICU patient care, delegating tasks, monitoring vitals, and coordinating discharge planning to ensure seamless patient care across facilities.

Qualifications

• RN License is required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor in Nursing is required.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience in acute care.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required (AHA).
• PALS certification required (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide ER care in a hospital setting following nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate patient care activities to care team members.
• Care for patients through recovery in critical care.
• Monitor and report patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Assist with discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.

• Location: floats between a region of hospitals in region 3 to include Bartow Regional Medical Center, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital
• Status: Pool, Non-Exempt
• Shift: 645PM - 7:15AM
• 2 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• On Call: No
• Always in person

The Registered Nurse - ER Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patients throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient.
• Professional accountability and development

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 2-year experience of ER in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALA certification with the American Heart Association
