Qualifications

• CPR – American Heart Association required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or High School/GED with MA experience.
• Certification: accepted Medical Assistant Certifications (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Certification within 120 days if not initially certified.
• Opportunity for company proctored certification exam if criteria not met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision using team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients according to workflows.
• Obtain vitals, document patient history and screening.
• Assist with depression screening and annual wellness visits.
• Review and screen medication lists in the EHR; update social history.
• Review orders and schedule age-appropriate screenings and prescriptions.
• Perform back office testing and assist with examinations.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Provide follow-up with patients via preferred method as directed.
