Job summary

Qualifications

• High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Employees with certification must complete training/testing within 30 days of hire and obtain certification within 120 days.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• May have opportunity to sit for company proctored certification exam when qualified.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and document history, tobacco use, and medications.
• Review/update medication lists in the EHR; screen for age-appropriate tests and prescriptions.
• Perform back office testing and assist with procedures; may serve as a scribe with training.
• Provide follow-up with patients via preferred method; notify test results per provider guidance.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure stocked supplies; maintain inventory per policy.
• Sterilize instruments; perform lab controls and equipment checks.
• Document accurately in the EHR and complete clerical duties as assigned.
• May float/travel between physician office locations.
