Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED OR completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire if not already certified; certifications accepted include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical practice setting.
• Accurately obtain vital signs, document patient history, screenings, and tobacco/medication use.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR; assist with depresion screening where applicable.
• Assist with exams and procedures; may serve as a medical scribe with training.
• Follow designated workflows; maintain inventory and clean/sterilize instruments.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties as assigned.
