Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification requirements: must complete certification within 120 days of hire if not yet certified; accepted MA certs include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Additional employment requirements include CPR (AHA) and various background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient examination, treatment and care under supervision.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and document patient information and history.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR; assist with orders and screenings per protocol.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe with training.
• Maintain stocked exam rooms and ensure inventory of supplies; perform clerical duties as assigned.
• May float between physician office locations as needed.
