Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team under provider direction. You will coordinate patient examinations, prepare rooms, take vital signs, document histories, and assist with procedures.

The role includes reviewing medication lists in the EHR, completing routine screenings, following AHN protocols, and maintaining stocked, clean exam areas. CPR certification is required, with potential travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification requirements: Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA); must obtain certification within 120 days if not already certified.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.
• Additional employment requirements: CPR - American Heart Association; background and fingerprint clearances may be required.

Responsabilités

• Using a team-based approach, assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs, document patient information and medical history; screen for tobacco use and medications.
• Review, update and screen medication lists in the EHR; pend/queue orders for age-appropriate screenings and prescriptions as per AHN protocols.
• Perform back office testing following AHN protocols and policies; assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training; follow up with patients via preferred method and notify patients of test results.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, maintain clean and organized treatment areas.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments; perform periodic lab controls and equipment checks.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical office duties as assigned.
