Job summary

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certifications (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
• Preferred: Associate's Degree
• CPR - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals, history, tobacco and medication screening.
• Perform back office testing per AHN protocols.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training.
• Follow up with patients per provider instructions and communicate test results.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory; ensure supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls as assigned.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties.
• May float between physician office locations.
