Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support coordination of patient care under a provider's direction. The role includes rooming patients, recording vitals and history, and assisting with tests and procedures.

Responsibilities also cover using the EHR for documentation, processing orders per protocol, maintaining supplies, and potentially serving as a scribe with additional training. Compliance and HIPAA requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification training and/or testing within 30 days of hire; must obtain certification within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating examination, treatment and care under supervision.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs, document history and screening information.
• Assist with back-office testing and with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training; provide patient follow-up per provider instructions.
• Maintain stocked exam rooms and ensure instruments are cleaned and sterilized.
