Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare seeks a Medical Assistant to provide front-line support in a clinic setting under the physician or advanced practice provider. You will collect patient information, perform routine clerical tasks, and assist with exams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires high school completion, 3–5 years of MA experience (preferred), and active knowledge of EMR systems. Certifications such as HEARTSAVER and CMA are expected to be pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Preferred Technical Degree or Diploma Medical Assistant.
• Medical Assistant or similar 3–5 years of experience required.
• Licenses: HEARTSAVER (AHA), National CMA, NCCT CMA, CCMA, CMAA, AMT, AAMA (varies by program).

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist, clerical and data entry tasks for patient care (scheduling, imaging exams, lab callbacks, authorizations).
• Assists patients during visits, escorts to exam rooms and responds to patient needs professionally.
• Records vital signs and patient information, medical histories, allergies and prior conditions.
• Assists with examinations, performs EKGs, dressings, specimen collection, and basic procedures as directed.
• Administers medications and immunizations under physician supervision; may renew prescriptions per protocol.
• Prepares exam rooms, maintains infection control, restocks supplies, and educates patients under supervision.
