Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Technical Degree or Diploma Medical Assistant preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience 3–5 years required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assists patients throughout visits and accompanies them to exam rooms.
• Handles scheduling, imaging, lab call backs, prior authorizations, chart retrieval and patient paperwork.
• Collects patient data: height, weight, vitals, and medical history with accurate documentation.
• Assists with exam preparations and skin/wound care as directed by the provider.
• Performs EKGs, sutures/staple removal, dressing changes.
• Collects and prepares specimens for lab analysis and assists with procedures.
• Administers medications and immunizations under physician or APP direction.
• May authorize prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies.
• Administers first aid or CPR in emergencies.
• Maintains exam rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments, restocks supplies.
• Provides patient education and instructions under supervising physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
