Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care in a clinic setting. You will assist patients during visits, schedule appointments, perform basic medical tasks, and help maintain a safe, efficient exam environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical degree is preferred. Prior Medical Assistant experience is favored, with responsibilities spanning vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Technical Degree or Diploma is preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assists patients throughout the visit and accompanies them as needed.
• Performs clerical tasks related to patient care including scheduling, calling labs, prior authorizations, and retrieving histories.
• Records vital signs and basic patient information (height, weight, temp, pulse, BP).
• Maintains exam/procedure rooms and ensures infection control and clean up between visits.
• Performs EKGs, venipuncture, and prepares specimens for lab analysis.
• Administers medications and immunizations under physician direction and may manage prescription refills.
