Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Nurse Manager with supervision and clinical leadership in a busy acute care unit. The role includes hiring and evaluating staff, orienting new hires, and driving performance improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities also include assisting in budgeting and maintaining strong patient satisfaction through excellent service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
• Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
• For those responsible for certain departments, ACLS/PALS/NRP/STABLE requirements and certifications are specified with timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the assigned area and provide clinical expertise.
• Assist the Nurse Manager in hiring and firing nursing personnel, conducting evaluations, orientation, and performance improvement activities.
• Assist in devising and managing departmental budgets.
• Facilitate positive customer service and patient-centered care on the nursing unit.
