Qualifications

• GS-04 requires 6 months general experience and 6 months specialized experience in medical laboratory support.
• Experience with CLIA-waived laboratory testing and documenting quality control.
• Ability to collect routine venipuncture and capillary specimens and verify patient identity.
• Maintain proper lab documentation and reports in laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate test results, recognize normal/abnormal findings, and troubleshoot for accuracy.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments; prepare reagents and culture media.
• Collect and process specimens, accession, and track them; prepare for referral testing.
• Support quality assurance and accreditation activities per CAP/CLIA and safety requirements.
