Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform a range of analyses across chemistry, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and blood bank. • Current licensure as a CLS in California.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the hospital.

• Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Biological Science or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing, quality control measures, and distribution of test results accurately and timely.
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Actively participate in departmental process improvement; meet turnaround time guidelines.
• Empathize with patients and families, showing compassion and understanding in care.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance or reporting and document actions.
• Follow procedures for handling and disposal of specimens, reagents, and biohazard waste.
• Accurately process tests, report results, and maintain records.
