Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to process specimens and perform high- and moderate-complexity testing. You will ensure regulatory compliance, report accurate results, and collaborate with multiple teams to support patient care and workflow efficiency.

The role requires strong proficiency with HIS/LIS systems, equipment operation, and quality control, plus training and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA personnel requirements for High Complexity testing.
• One year healthcare or lab related work experience preferred.
• ASCP, AMT or defined equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform high/moderate complexity testing.
• Evaluate specimens and test orders for acceptability according to guidelines.
• Follow SOPs and report accurate results.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot all technical equipment.
• Maintain quality control records and instrument calibrations.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure samples treated like patient samples.
• Manage inventory by rotating stock and checking expiration dates.
• Assist with training of team members and students.
• Follow Atlantic Health safety procedures.
