Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical and technical tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role requires a B.S.

in Medical Technology or equivalent, and 0-1 year of experience with professional licensing (ASCP or NCA preferred). You will conduct instrumentation maintenance, quality control, and documentation per regulatory standards in a fast-paced hospital lab.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• 0-1 year experience.
• Licensing: ASCP preferred or NCA certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Performs technical procedures in Molecular Pathology, Tumor Cytogenomics, Flow Cytometry as outlined in the policy and procedure manual(s).
• Performs periodic/scheduled and as needed maintenance on instrumentation/equipment; maintains documentation.
• Performs quality control and calibration procedures; signs QC logs.
• Ensures all required QC and calibration procedures are completed and logged; signs out records.
• Maintains records per regulatory requirements: card files, requisitions, LIS docs, statistics.
