Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• 0-1 year experience.
• Licensing: Name: Clinical Laboratory Technologist Issuing Agency: DOH / Office of Professions.
• ASCP preferred or NCA certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Performs technical procedures in Molecular Pathology, Tumor Cytogenomics, Flow Cytometry as outlined in policy and procedures.
• Performs periodic maintenance on instrumentation/equipment.
• Performs quality control and calibration procedures; signs QC logs and records in LIS.
• Maintains records per regulatory requirements: files, requisitions, LIS docs, statistics.
• Communicates critical results to Nursing/Physician and notes in LIS.
