Job summary

Harrington Hospital, part of UMass Memorial Health, seeks a Medical Technologist for a 40-hour day shift on site in Southbridge, MA. A Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory science or medical technology is required; MT (ASCP) certification preferred.

You will perform routine and complex laboratory tests across microbiology and other areas, calibrate instrumentation, maintain quality control, and ensure timely, accurate results while supporting department operations and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.
• MT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Ability to perform complex laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests per CLIA definitions and ensure data accuracy.
• Assess specimen acceptability and maintain integrity throughout testing.
• Calibrate instrumentation and perform routine maintenance as required.
• Adhere to quality control policies and report unusual results to supervision.
• Orient and train new employees and students in lab operations.
