Job summary

Louisiana State University seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist 2 to join the Student Health Center team, performing clinical diagnostic tests with emphasis on accuracy and interpretive judgment in a collaborative care model.

The MT calibrates equipment, manages tests, handles data, and supports quality improvement and billing-related communications, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Louisiana CLS-Generalist or CLS-Specialist license.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology/clinical laboratory science + 1 year as MT; OR Bachelor's in bio/phy/chem + 2 years as MT.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and operate equipment; establish quality programs and document results.
• Interpret, verify and report results using LIS/EHR; notify providers of critical values.
• Perform venipunctures and specimen collection; maintain safety protocols and labeling.
