Louisiana State University is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist 2 for the Student Health Center. The MT will calibrate and operate lab equipment, interpret test results, perform venipunctures, and support HIPAA-compliant data handling.

The role requires CLIA licensure and a medical technology or related bachelor's degree with relevant experience. It is located at the Student Health Center Building and may involve some after-hours duties.

Competenze

• Possession of a current Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist license.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science plus one year of experience as a medical technologist; OR Bachelor's degree in a biological, physical, or chemical science plus two years of experience as a medical technologist.

Mansioni

• Calibrate and operate equipment and conduct performance checks with documentation.
• Interpret, verify and report test results using the lab information system and EHR; notify providers of critical values.
• Perform venipunctures and specimen collection; label, prepare, and transport specimens to reference labs.
• Assist with data entry and distribution of laboratory, insurance and billing information; maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Complete required trainings and support quality improvement and accreditation efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Formazione

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science + 1 year MT experience; OR Bachelor's degree in biological/physical/chemical science + 2 years MT experience
