Qualifications

• Six months general experience in a relevant field.
• Six months specialized experience performing clinical laboratory support tasks.
• Education: Associate degree plus one year certified lab assistant training or equivalent education/experience.
• Alternative: one year of chemistry/biological sciences study plus formal lab training.
• Two years of chemistry/biological sciences study related to the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate test results; troubleshoot and repeat procedures as needed.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab instruments; prepare reagents and culture media; monitor quality control.
• Collect and process patient specimens; ensure specimen integrity and proper logging.
• Support quality assurance, accreditation, and regulatory compliance (CAP/CLIA).
