Qualifications

• Six months general experience in related work.
• Six months specialized laboratory support experience.
• An associate degree with lab training approved by accrediting agency.
• One year of chemistry/biological sciences study plus lab training.
• Two years of chemistry/biological sciences study related to the position.
• Combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology, and blood banking.
• Evaluate results, identify abnormalities, troubleshoot, and repeat procedures as needed.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain instruments; prepare reagents, stains, culture media; monitor quality control.
• Collect and process patient specimens; assess acceptability; accession and track in LIS.
• Validate and document results; communicate with providers; support QA and accreditation per CAP/CLIA standards.
