Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or equivalent education and training as defined by CLIA.
• MLT registry eligible or equivalent required.
• MLT (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• MLT certification through U.S. military medical laboratory programs acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures per QA guidelines; documents corrective actions.
• Prepares reagents and manages test materials; controls inventory to reduce waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment to prioritize tests and troubleshoot systems with appropriate departments.
• Reviews and revises procedures to maintain accreditation; adheres to CAP, TJC, OSHA requirements.
• Maintains clear shift-to-shift communications with leadership on issues affecting patient care or department operations.
• Participates in planning, staff meetings, and projects to implement changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
