Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to QA guidelines for equipment and work area, documenting corrective action to any non-conforming event.
• Prepares reagents, maintains adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to reduce waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities and resolves issues by contacting appropriate department channels.
• Assists with review and revision of procedures and documentation for accreditation; adheres to CAP, TJC, OSHA requirements.
• Maintains clear, real-time communications shift-to-shift with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care or department operation.
• Participates in planning and implementing changes through staff meetings and projects.
