Job summary

Avera St Luke's Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a variety of clinical tests and related duties. You will operate laboratory instrumentation, ensure quality control, and support ongoing education for staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical/clinical laboratory science or related field.
• MLS-AMT certification within 1 year if applicable.
• MLS-ASCP certification within 1 year if applicable.
• MLT or related Medical Laboratory Technology credential within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of laboratory instrumentation and workflows.
• Initiate and follow through with corrective action for issues.
• Perform basic to complex clinical laboratory tests per protocols.
• Distinguish normal vs abnormal results and recheck as needed.
• Provide guidance and training to team members; ensure proper specimen handling.
