Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS/CLS program eligibility may be considered.
• 1 year experience in specimen collection or testing.
• ASCP MLS certification or state licensure required or eligible.
• Specialist certifications in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Processes and handles blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures.
• Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry, urinalysis, and immunohematology.
• Conducts quality control on analytical systems and addresses out-of-control results.
• Maintains and operates laboratory equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Participates in proficiency testing and assists in training new staff and interns.
