Job summary

McCook is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory tests and QC across all departments, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot as needed. The MLS will also provide care for all age groups and interpret results with age-specific context.

The role includes on-call duties, shift rotations, and weekend work. Requirements include MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration, 1–2 years of hospital lab experience preferred, and the ability to perform phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration.
• 1-2 years of hospital lab experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform phlebotomy correctly.
• Previous computers experience preferred; training on programs will be provided.
• Must be able to rotate shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and QC in all laboratory departments.
• Conduct general maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
• Provide care for all age groups and interpret laboratory results by age group.
• Take call as scheduled and rotate shifts; work weekends as scheduled.
