Job summary

University Health KC—UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri—seeks a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the General Lab. The role performs high-complexity tests on blood and body fluids to support diagnostic decisions in a level 1 trauma center, working 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities include independent work with supervision, potential rotation to a specialized section, and weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical lab/medical technology science and ASCP certification in one or more specialty areas.
• Or Bachelor’s degree with AMA approved lab training program and ASCP eligibility.
• Or completion of approved government training program and ASCP eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-complexity tests on blood and body fluids to support diagnosis and care in a level 1 trauma center.
• Works independently with moderate supervision by Lab Supervisor or Director of Laboratory Operations.
• May rotate to a specialized section within the General Lab.
