Job summary

McCook is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory tests and QC across all departments, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot as needed. The MLS will also provide care for all age groups and interpret results with age-specific context.

The role includes on-call duties, shift rotations, and weekend work. Requirements include MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration, 1–2 years of hospital lab experience preferred, and the ability to perform phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration.
• 1-2 years of hospital lab experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform phlebotomy correctly.
• Previous computers experience preferred; training on programs will be provided.
• Must be able to rotate shifts, including weekends.

Description:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform Laboratory Tests and QC in all Laboratory departments, perform general maintenance & troubleshooting as needed, provide care for all age groups, and assess and interpret laboratory results specific to each age group. The MLS will also take call as scheduled, rotate shifts, and work weekends as scheduled.

Requirements:

• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration required
• 1-2 years of previous hospital lab experience preferred
• Must be able to do Phlebotomy correctly required
• Previous experience with computers preferred, will train on specific programs
• Must be able to rotate shifts as needed, required
