Job summary

COMMUNITY HOSPITAL - MCCOOK is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory tests and QC across departments, ensuring accurate results for all age groups in a busy hospital setting.

The MLS will rotate shifts, take call as scheduled, and work weekends. Ideal candidates hold MLS (ASCP) registration and have 1–2 years of hospital lab experience; phlebotomy and computer skills are required and training on specific programs will be provided.

Qualifications

• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registration required.
• 1-2 years hospital lab experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform Phlebotomy.
• Previous experience with computers preferred; training on specific programs will be provided.
• Must be able to rotate shifts as needed; work weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and QC in all laboratory departments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Provide care for all age groups and interpret results appropriate to age.
• Take call as scheduled and participate in shift rotations, including weekends.

The MLS will also take call as scheduled, rotate shifts, and work weekends as scheduled.
