Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine seeks a Laboratory Supervisor (Microbiology) to lead the collection, processing, and automated/manual diagnostic testing. You will coordinate staff, provide 24/7 on-call coverage, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance under the manager/director’s supervision.

You will develop SOPs, validate new methods, and drive continuous improvements while training and mentoring technologists and support personnel in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing and qualify as a general supervisor.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific documents and communicate with management.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of employees in collection, processing, and testing.
• Provides 24/7 rotating on-call coverage and regulatory oversight.
• Monitors workflows to improve efficiency and quality of results.
• Participates in development and validation of new instruments/tests.
• Develops and maintains SOPs per CLSI guidelines and coordinates staff training.
• Plans resources, staff schedules, and productivity reporting.
• Drives CSI initiatives and implements process improvements.
