Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare is seeking a laboratory support professional to assist technical staff in clinical and anatomic pathology testing. The role requires a high school diploma and roughly one year of phlebotomy or laboratory experience, with strong adherence to OSHA guidelines and safety procedures.

You will review orders, manage specimens in the electronic health record, and process samples per protocol.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year phlebotomy or laboratory experience preferred.
• Follows OSHA and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review healthcare provider orders and verify tests.
• Receive specimens in the EHR and ensure patient/specimen IDs.
• Prepare and process specimens per protocol (centrifugation, aliquoting, storage, transport).
• Distribute specimens and prepared slides to testing personnel.
• Assist internal/external customers with test orders and specimen requirements.
• Perform and report results on waived test systems.
• Monitor supplies and maintain benches/equipment.
• Provide training to new team members.
