Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy department.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with main lab staff and other departments to ensure patient care.
• Receives specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Inputs and retrieves lab results in the hospital system.
• Distributes specimens to the appropriate testing area.
• Identifies and resolves problems with supervisor or colleagues as needed.
• Performs waived testing under CLS direction as applicable.
• Communicates specimen rejections or critical results to staff and documents actions.
• May review refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records.
