Job summary

Northwestern Medicine at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator to facilitate high-quality laboratory services and oversee daily operations. You will work with pathologists and physicians to implement technology and testing, develop SOPs, ensure compliance, and manage staff training and competency.

Responsibilities include staffing coordination, inventory oversight, and collaboration with Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role.
• ASCP Board of Registry certification within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and staff section staffing to ensure sufficient coverage and adjust daily assignments as needed.
• Develop SOPs and maintain document control.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, TJC, CAP, AABB, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Assist in planning and maintenance of the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Oversee inventory and supply requests to meet department budget requirements and volume demands.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities related to equipment and facilities.
• Provide training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation for section staff.
• Perform complex testing in the laboratory with documented training and competency.
• Report test results accurately and communicate with appropriate personnel.
• Participate in professional development, meetings, and continuing education.
