Requirements include a High School Diploma and at least 1 year in a general lab, specimen processing, or phlebotomy setting; Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy area or enrolled in a lab-related education program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lab staff and clinical teams to ensure patient care.
• Receive specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Enter and retrieve lab results in LIS or hospital systems.
• Register specimen dropoffs (e.g., Home health) with accurate data entry.
• Process specimens for transport to reference labs.
• Distribute specimens to testing areas and ensure correct processing.
• Perform quality control, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments under supervision.
• Operate and maintain lab automation systems as appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic/analytic testing and report results to providers.
