Job description

Job Summary

Perform daily routine laboratory activities to assist the laboratory staff and facilitate production. Ensure all functions are performed precisely and accurately.

Job Requirements

1. Sort and receive specimens in the department.
2. Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
3. Handle laboratory tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, recording data (e.g., temperature charts), and managing specimen storage and retrieval.
4. Prepare reagents and media.
5. Prepare specimens for testing at workstations, including building worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots, inoculation, and slide preparation.
6. Perform QA/QC duties as assigned.
7. Resolve pending lists and find missing samples.
8. Decontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests.
9. Maintain departmental records and files.
10. Change gas cylinders and follow all PPE and safety regulations.
11. Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs.
12. Dispose of biohazardous materials properly.
13. Complete training and competency checklists as required.
