Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support our primary care teams by documenting patient encounters in real time, joining clinicians in the exam room, and ensuring accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding to support value-based care.

This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on clinical exposure, comprehensive onboarding, and opportunities to develop documentation skills while supporting the care team and patients in our Oak Park clinics.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience or shadowing preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred.
• Ability to type 70+ WPM (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with history, assessment, plan, and exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement and record reviews.
• Provide administrative support to the care team.
